Gardens don't just happen. It is designed for a purpose. It may be planted for production of some fresh food. It can be a place set aside for meaning and healing. It may offer a feast for the belly and the eyes, plus relaxation for the spirit. It all depends upon how it is designed and prepared.

About the event

Great Gardens in Small Spaces class series helps one better understand and then design a personal garden space... or even help a group design something larger for a community or group. The concepts, ideas, suggestions are ment to help all of us better understand the importance of gardens and gardening in mankind's history of nutrition, health, and knowledge. The classes are on Saturdays from 10am - 2pm on the following dates, January 13th & 27th, February 10th & 24th, March 2nd & 16th. A lunch will be provided with each class.

  • Class 2 - Where

    Location, style, and type. Examples of what style of garden suits each of us. This class will be held on January 27th from 10am - 2pm, with lunch provided.

  • Class 3 - Who

    Who will benefit? Who will the garden depend upon? Learn how we set the garden up for the 'workers'. This class will be held on February 10th, from 10am - 2pm, with lunch provided.

  • Class 4 - What and How

    Overview of basic construction and layouts to meet the answers to "Who and Where". This class will be held on February 24th, from 10am - 2pm, with lunch provided.

  • Class 5 - What Do I Plant

    A look at types of plants, their compatibility to each site, and the basics of 'how to grow'. This class will be held on March 2nd, from 10am - 2pm, with lunch provided.
